Uprooting Tapioca

The Young Farmers Club dug up some tapioca or cassava. They'll replant the trees so new roots can grow and sell the tapioca on campus.  Can you say tapioca pudding? Yum!

SVS School Wide Spelling Bee

The School Wide Elimination Bee determines who will represent San Vicente School in the Scripps Howard Spelling Bee on Guam this March. The 5th grade team organized the event with the leadership of Mrs. Rose Adams.

Our judges: Mr. Reyes, Ms. Van Dam, Mr. Welch and the pronouncer, Mr. Gramlich

Fellow students attended the event to offer moral support and witness the competition.

Spellers do their best to get through each round of words.

Conscientious teachers provide activities for students during the bee.

Animated students nervously spell their words while others wait their turn.

And then there were five, over and over again.

The suspense built as each student re-entered the rounds hoping to make it to the end.

The 2012 SVS Scripps Howard Representative is Peyton Ha'ani Reyes Gomez.  Congratulations to Ms. Nada, her extraordinary teacher and to Peyton!!
